TOPICAL REPORT, "AN ASSESSMENT OF HCDA ENERGETICS IN THE CRBRP HETEROGENE0US REACTOR CORE" (CRBRP-GEFR-00523)
Enclosed are seventy (70) copies of the subject report dated December 1981.
This document provides the analytical results of hypothetical core disruptive event analyses for the CRBRP heterogeneous reactor core.
The analytical results cover a large number of parametric cases and reactor core configurations -for the beginning of' cycle one and end of cycle four.
I' The accident progression is divided into four physically different phases:
initiating, meltout, large-scale pool, and hydrodynamic disassembly, depending upon geometric and pressure conditions within the core.
The energetics assessment provided herein indicates that the previously I
established structural margin beyond the design base values provide gcO substantial safety margin for postulated events in the heterogeneous g
core.
