November 23, 1981 NOTICE (Concerning Commission Action on Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP))
On November 10, 1981, Comissioner John Ahearne directed the Secretary of the Commission to send to the Board a copy of Secy 81-641, which is a status report on a staff investigation of the effects of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) on nuclear power plants.
We have decided that it is appropriate to attach this material to this Notice and thereby to include this material in our record.
The memorandte is relevant to prior Board action.
This action does not reseal the Board's leanings relevant to Ohio Citizens for Responsible Energy :s recent request to waive the Comission's rules so that an EMP contention can be considered in this proceeding.
