Nuclear Regulatory Cocnission (the Comission) has issued Arnend-ment No. 3 to Faciit ty Operating License No. HPF-9, issued to Duke Power Company (Itcensee) for the ricGuire Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (the facility) located in fiecklenburg County, North Carolina. This amendoent modifies surveillance requirements of the Engineered Safety features Actuation System, specifically the Auxiliary Feedwater Suction Pressure-Low Pressure Instrumentaion.

The amendment is effective as of its date of issuar.ce.

The application for the amendment complies with the standards and require-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Connis-sion's regulations. The Comission has made apprcpriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment. Prior public notice of this doendment was not Jrequired since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consider-ation The Comission has determined that the issuance of this amendment will not result is any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR $51.5 (d)(4) an environmental impact statement, or negative declaration and environ-mental impact appratsal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of this amendment.
