Dear Mr. Dromerick:

On March 19, 1981, the SHUPPS Utilities and their contractors met with the NRC Staff (Auxiliary Systems Branch -ASB) to discuss service water systems, ultimate heat sinks, and the component cooling water system. A list of attendees is attached. The followiag is our understanding of the commit-ments made at the meeting, l.

SNUPPS will provide additional discussion and analysis concerning the potential for icing or debris to affect the performance of the Callaway UHS cooling towers.

2.

SNUPPS will provide additional discussion and analysis concerning the potential for blockage of the Callaway ESW pumphouse suction.

3.

Table 9.2-5 (sheet 7) of the Callaway Site Addendum will be changed to clarify the intent of Technical Specifications for the UHS.

4.

SNUPPS will clarify the capability of the ESW pumps to start under postulated conditions of loss of the pre-lube water.

5.

The Site Addenda will be corrected to indicate crossing of ESW piping over other non-seismic piping and appropriate figures will be provided.
