SERIAL: NO-80-1441 Mr. Mnes P. O'Railly, Director United States Nuclear Regulatory Comission Region II Suite 3100 101 Marietta Street Atlanta, Georgia 30303 BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT, UNIT NO. 1 DOCKET NO. 50-325 LICENSE NO. DPR-71 SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION I.E. BULLETIN 79-07 AND 79-14
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
In our letter of June 2,1980 (NO-80-810) we described our plans for completion of the long-term (non-CRD) seismic support modifications on Unit 1.
At the time of our June 2 letter, Unit 1 had recently begun a refualing outage which was scheduled to be of very short duration, due to system load requirements and the concurrent maintenance, modification and refueling outage on Unit 2.
A a parate maintenance and modification outage for Unit 1 was then scheduled for taid-September,1980, and the long-term seismic support modifications on Unit I were scheduled to be done during that outage, All identified short-term modifications on both Units are complete. The non-CRD long-term inaccessible modifications on Unit 2 are also complete. The remaining non-CRD long-term modifications on both Units are scheduled for couteletion by the end of the Unit 1 maintenance outage which has been rascheduled to etn; in March,198'.. The CRD long-term modifications for eacu Unit will be comp;Wed by the end of the next scheduled respective refueling outage.
A short refueling outage was scheduled for Unit 1, due to the need for the Unit to help meet system load demand requirements. It was necessary to reschedule thirty inaccessible long-term modifications for completion during the rescheduled maintenance outage set to begin in March 1981. Since all of these supports will maintain their structural integrity (and are therefore "long-term modifications"), there will be no adverse impact on the public health and safety as a result of this delay in the completion of modifications.
Yours very truly, b. Lu.
