ByletterdatedMarchE3,1979(signedbyMr.JamesS. Grant),yourCocpany forwarded to the NRC Phase I of the special Fish I@ingement. Study required by Sections 4.2 and 4.2.1 of the Environmental portion of the Technical Specifications for Davis Besse Unit No. 1.
Since this Phase I Study was required by your Technical Specifications and required NRC staff review before Facility License No. NPF-2: sculd be amended to delete certain require-ments that have been satisfied and to detemine whether Phases II and III Studies are necessary, it is subject to the fee requirements of 10 CFR 170.22.
Based on the infomation that i.as been provided by the NRC staff as a result of their review of your March 28, 1979 submittal, it has been determined that this filing involved censideration of an environmental issue which was assessed in the Environmental Iepact Appraisal that accomanied Amendment No. 26 to License NPF-3 issued by NRC on July 2,1980. As such, a Class III fee of
$4,000 is required and should be remitted to this office promptly.
