Docket-#50-329 and 50-330 x

/

Dear Mr. Kartalia:

N 'd'q%

v As you know, my timely petition for Leave to Intervene in the Consumer Power Company (Midland Plant) Docket #50-329 and 50-330 was filed with the USAEC on the 20th of December, 1971.

It was, therefore, a depressing surprise, indeed, to receive on the 19th of January,1972 the USAEC Regulatory Staff's answer from the law offices of Lowenstein, tiewman and Reis, Washington, D. C., attorneys for the Consumer Power Company. The airmail letter also contained the applicants answer in opposition to my petition.

I am appreciative to'the Lowenstein, fleuman and Reis law offices for:having sent me the referenced material.

However, this demonstration of " togetherness" between tne USAEC Regulatory Staff with the Consumers Power Company, the applicant in the captioned proceedings, evokes general disillusionment with those governmental bedies who in their exuberance with promtional activities neglect their duties of protecting the public interest.- To this date, neither my attorney, Howard J. Vogel Esq., or myself have received any correspondence from the United States Atomic Energy Commission on my petition.

Please advise.

Thank you.

4 Sincerely,
