Dear Mr. Denton:
Long Island Lighting Company herein submits fifteen (15) copies of a document entitled DESIGN CRITERIA AND DESCRIPTION, TECHNICAL SUPPORT CENTER (TSC) for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station.
We consider that the design, as described in the enclosed document, satisfies the functional needs of the TSC and the guidelines of NUREG-0578 as clarified by the November 9, 1979 letter, relating to location, size, habitability, instrumentation, electrical supoly and communications.
Accordingly, we are proceeding with the implementation of this concept in order to comply with NUREG-0694, "TMI Related Rec uirements For New Operating Licenses" in a timely fashion anc. to meet our current fuel load schedule.
Since we consider this a long lead-time item and of utmost importance in complying with the TMI related requirements, your concurrence with our approach is hereby requested as soon as possible.
