LER CONTINUATION -- RO# 1-77-95 Facility:
BSEP Unit #1 Event Date 11-5-77 CAUSE DESCRIPTION:
entering the HPCI room floor sump from the HPCI sump pump discharge line by back flow from the floor drain collecting tank.
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
The water was pumped out of the HPCI room and the auxiliary oil pump motor was replaced.
ACTION TO PREVENT RECURRENCE:
The HPCI room sumps will be kept pumped down and the sump pumps operable.
Several drain headers have been drilled and plugged to allow detection of leak sources before lower level equipment is flooded. An operating instruction is being prepared as a guide to the operators for lea'k identi-fication.
