SAFETY EVALUATION REPCRT SUPPORTING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO CPPR-66 Introduction
~
Construction permit CPPR-66 was issued to Metropolitan Edison Company and to Jersey Central Power and Light Company, as joint owners each having a 50% undivided interest in Three Mile Island 2.
Subsequent to the issuance of the construction permit, Jersey Central Power and Light Company sold one-half of its interest in Three Mile Island 2 to Pennsylvania Electric Ccmpany and in a further rearrangement of ownership interests, Metropolitan Edison Company plans *o seli one-half of its interest in Three Mlle Island 2 to Jersey Central Power and Light Company and Pennsylsa,ia Electric Company plans to sell three-fifths of its interest in Three Mile Island 2 to Jersey Central Power and Light Comcany.
The resulting ownership percentages will be as folicws: Metropolitan Edison Ccmpany - 25%, Jersey Central Power and Light Company - 655, and Pennsylvania Elec*.ric Company - 10%.
Conclusion Metropolitan Edison Company, Jersey Central Power and Light Ccmpany and Pennsylvania Electric Company are all wholiy-owned major operating subsidiaries of General Public Utilities Corporation.
Based uoan our review, we conclude that there is reasonable assurance that Pernsylvania Electric Cempany can obtain the necessary funds to supoort its 10; 7 9042sooR f9:5 75)
