10 CFR 72.44(f) Report of Emergency Plan Change Pursuant to 10 CFR 72.4 and 10 CFR 72.44(f), Rancho Seco is informing the NRC of a change to the Rancho Seco Emergency Plan. The Emergency Plan, RSLBD-020, Revision 1, became effective on October 31, 2018. With the termination of the Rancho Seco Part 50 license (NRC letter "TERMINATION OF RANCHO SECO NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION OPERATING LICENSE DPR-54" dated August 31, 2018 -
ADAMS Accession Number ML180828076), this change removes references to 1 O CFR 50 and aligns the Emergency Plan with the requirements of 10 CFR 72.32. Other changes to the Emergency Plan include editorial changes and minor wording changes to improve clarity and readability.
All spent nuclear fuel is stored within the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation, licensed under 10 CFR 72. The Emergency Plan adequately describes SMUD's plan for responding to emergencies that could occur at Rancho Seco.
Our 10 CFR 72.44(f) evaluation (enclosure 1) determined that the changes made in RSLBD-020, Rev. 1 conform to the requirements of 10 CFR 72.32 and ISG-16 and do not reduce the effectiveness of the previously approved NRC plan. Therefore, these changes. can be made without prior NRC approval. A copy of The Emergency Plan, RSLBD-020 Rev. 1 has been provided under separate cover (SMUD letter DPG-200 "RANCHO SECO EMERGENCY PLAN MANUAL UPDATE" dated October 31, 2018). AX. 4-5
