Dear Mr. Lear:
The purpose of this letter is to provide the status of the~
commitments made in our letter to you dated April 30, 1975.
The following is a summary of the milestones es ablished in the above letter:
1.
By June 28,
- 1975, submit to the NRC a Topical Quality Assurance Report that is responsive to the guidance provided in NASH-1283, WASH-1284, and WASH-1309; 2.
By January 1,
1976 (Day 0), complete a matrix identifying differences between the corporate Quality Procedures which represent the implementation of the QA Program described by the Topical QA Report and the PTP Administrative Procedures; 3.
Assuming the NRC has reviewed and approved the Topical QA Report by January 1,
1976 (Day 0),
we will have impl mented an Operational QA Program for PTP Units 3 and 4 by April 29, 1976 (Day 120).
To date, items 1 and 2 above have been accomplished.
The commit-ment in item 3 was based on the assumption tnat NRC approval of the PPL Topical QA Report (TPLTQAR) would be received by January 1,
1976 (Day 0).
At the presen time, the Topical QA Repo t.
(FPLTQAR) has not been approved by the QA Branch of the Division of Project Management-
- However, FpL is cont'nuincI the activities recIuired to HELPING BUILD FLORIDA
Mr. George Lear March 4, 1976 implement an operational QA Program for PTP and will have the program implemented 120 days 'following NRC approval of the FPL Topical QA. Report per our previous commitment.
Very truly yours, Robert E. Uhrig Vice President
