This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Dr. Jin W. Chung of
this office on April 28, 1986 - May 2, 1986 at Salem Nuclear Generating
Station, Units 1 and 2, Hancocks Bridge, New Jersey of activities authorized by
NRC License Nos. DPR-70 and DPR-75 and to the discussions of our findings held
by Dr. Jin W. Chung with Mr. J. Zupko at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with pe~sonnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
