REGARDING A CONTROL ROD LIFTED WITH THE REACTOR HEAD IN PREPARATION FOR REFUELING Byletter dated September 14, 1993, the NRC transmitted a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of.Civil Penalty regarding a control rod that was still coupled to its drive mechanism and was lifted with the reactor vessel h~ad in pre~aration for refueling.
Pursuant to the letter, a check payable to the Treasurer of the United States in the amount of the $50,000 is attached.
A reply to the Notice of Violation will be submitted by October 14, 1993.
