~1!m NtACARA MOHAWK SOO ClllC IOUl KVAhOWCllf SYRACUSE, N,Y, 15204 May ll, 1984 Dr, Thomas A. Murley Regional Administrator Region I Office U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Colnrnission 631 Park Avenue King of Prussia, Pennsylvania 19406 Dear Dr. Murley; Re; Nuclear Organization and Notification Chan es This is to confirm the information I conveyed to you by phone last week concerning organizational changes at Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (NM).

Earlier this year NM organized a new management team at which time several key members of Management Analysis Company {MAC)were integrated into the Nine Mile Nuclear Station Unit 02 {NM-2}organization.

MAC's experience in the nuclear field was vital in NM's plans to manage the changeover from bulk construc-tion to the more complex instrumentation and preoper ational testing phase of the nuclear plant.

As the Company looks ahead to improving overall performance in the operation of Nine Mile I and construction and operation of Nine Mile II, it was determined that additional specialized expertise was needed.

Two senior level MAC executives, B. G. Hooten and J. A. Perry, are being employed at the top level of Niagara Mohawk, assuming the functions formerly performed by G. K.

Rhode, Senior Vice President and Donald P. Disc, Vice President - Quality Assurance, respectively, Messrs.

Hooten and Perry willreport directly to the undersigned.

It is requested that any correspondence previously addressed to them now be sent to Messrs.

Hooten and Perry, as appropriate, to the following addresses:
