1989 In Reference 1) the Supply System requested that the NRR Staff provide the Supply System with any concerns they might have with the conceptual RPT logic trip design previously submitted (Reference 2).

The Supply System requested the NRR respond no later than April 21, 1989.

On April 18, 1989 a conference call was held between Hulbert Li, Jerry Mauck, and Bob Samworth of the

NRR, and Larry Aeschliman, Bob Green.

Gordon Brastad and Scott Mulkey of the Supply System.

The purpose of the conference call was to discuss any concerns the Staff had regarding the proposed subject design.

As a result of the above conference call, the Supply System provides the follow-ing clarifications:

The Supply System will install a permanent testing feature that will allow testing, while at power, of the relay logic up to and including the last relay prior to the trip coil.

2.

Indication of testing will be provided to the Control Room Operators.

3.

The Supply System will submit the appropriate Technical Specification change (no-later than March 1, 1990).

It is the Supply System's understanding that the NRR staff has no other specific concerns regarding the WNP-2 RPT proposed design at this time.

The Supply System intends to proceed immediately on that basis.
