The NRC staff has reviewed your response dated June 21, 1999, to our RAI regarding the minimum critical power ratio amendment application. As a result of the review, the staff has determined that additional information is needed to complete the review. The information needed is detailed in the enclosure.

The enclosed request was discussed with Mr. Arbuckle of your staff on July 19, 1999. A mutually agreeable target date of August 4, 1999, was established for responding to the RAI.

SUPPLEMENTAL RE UEST FOR ADDITIONALINFORMATION WASHINGTON PUBLIC POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM NUCLEAR PROJECT NO. 2 WNP-2 DOCKET NO. 50-397 In regard to your June 21,1999, response to question 4, please describe any difference between the treatment of channel bow in the Siemans'LMCPR methodology and channel bow treatment in the calculation of ABB SVEA-96 fuel critical power ratio (CPR) in the core monitoring system.

Provide any data available to substantiate that the assumption of a mean bow of 0.4 mm in the monitored CPR is still valid for Cycle 15 analysis.
