CONTROL NUMBER(S) of 12/19/2016 Louisiana Department of Health Thermophilic Organisms Related to the Operation of Waterford 3 for the Environmental Review of the Waterford 3 License Renewal Application On December 19, 2016, Michelle Moser, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Biologist, contacted Raoult Ratard MD, MPH &
TM, FACPM, Louisiana Department of Health State Epidemiologist. Ms. Moser explained that the NRC is reviewing Entergy's application to renew the operating license for Waterford 3. As part of this review, the NRC staff evaluate the potential for Waterford 3's thermal effluent to influence the growth of thermophilic organisms within the Mississippi River. Dr. Ratard stated that he did not have any concerns regarding Waterford 3's thermal effluent and the growth of thermophilic organisms within the Mississippi River.
