Region V
On September 10, 1982 R. F. Reedy Inc., the IDVP organization performing the gA audits within the program, conducted an exit meeting on Phase II gA audits with representatives of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E).
Mr. T.
W. Bishop, a member of the NRC Region V staff, attended the meeting and prepared a summary of the meeting including related comments (memo-randum from R. H. Engelken, Regional Administrator, to H. R. Denton, Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, dated September 15, 1982).
Although the NRC has not approved yet the Phase II plan for the IDVP, we believe that the Region V comments on Phase II activities already in
- progress, such as the gA audits, are appropriate.
We therefore are providing you with the above mentioned memorandum for your consideration.
We request that you consider the comments in your evaluation of the Reedy findItngs, particularly with respect to the limited scope of the audit as compared to the scope as specified in the NRR letter of No'vember 19, 1981. It is our understanding that the Reedy report(s) on the gA a'udits will not be issued until mid-October.
We request that you provide a status of the gA audits in your next semi-monthly report.
