CONFIRMATION OF IE ACTION ONARCH 20, 1991 MITH RESPECT TO NOTICE OF PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTIES AND ORDER ISSUED ON NOVEt1BER 26, 1980 By EN-80-52, dated November 26,
- 1980, the Commission was informed of IE intent to issue on November 26, 1980 a Notice of Violation and Notice of Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties in the amount of Two Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars to Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation.
In addition, IE issued on the samie date an immediately effective license modifictition removing the formel "~ Nine h1ile Point Site Superintendent from involvement in nuclear activities for the Corporation and an Order to Show Cause why the Executive Vice President shoi ld not be'~removed from involvement in nuclear activity. This is to confirm thee action taken by IE on March 20, 1981, as a result of licensee submi ttals and meetings with licensee representati ves, to mitigate the proposed penalty to Two Hundred Fifteen, Thousand Dollars, which the licensee agreed to pay; and to issue "1ithdrawal of Ordered Yiodification and Order to Show Cause and Termination of Proceedings Thereon," the effect of which was to restore the status of the General Superintendent - Nuclear and to terminate the Show Cause, Order in'volving the Executive Ace, President. / r A press release was made during the evening hours', Friday, t1arch 20.
