SUBJECT:
DOCKET NOS. 50-369, 50-370, 50-413, 50-414, 50-269, 50-270, AND 50-296 As part of the NRC Confirmatory Measurements Program, liquid samples spiked with radionuclides will *be sent to the McGuire, Catawba, and Oconee facilities for radiochemical analyses.
These samples are to be analyzed for tritium, strcrtium-89, strontium-90, and iron-55 in accordance with your approved proceoures for analysisof liquid waste samples.
If routine analyses of this type are normally performed by a vendor, this vendor should be used to analyze the spiked sarple.
The spiked samples, with instructions, will be sent under separate cover from the Departrent of Energy's Radiological and Environmental Sciences Laboratory within approximately thirty days.
We request that the analyses be completed as soon as practicable, but no later than 60 days from receipt of the samples.
Results should be sent to:
U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Region II, ATTN:
Mr. J. B. Kahle, Chief, Radioloccal Effluents and Chemistry Section.
Our evaluation of your results will be discussed with your staff anc documented in our next inspection report for this area. Spiked samples wilI be sent to you on an annual basis as part of our routine inspection program.
