Hope Creek Generating Station (HCGS)
Docket No. 50-3 54 License Amendment Request H10-04: "License Amendment Request-Operation with Final Feedwater Temperature Reduction and Feedwater Heaters Out-Of-Service PSEG Nuclear LLC submitted the subject amendment request to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on September 22, 2010. The proposed amendment would revise the Hope Creek Facility Operating License (FOL) to allow operation with a Final Feedwater Temperature Reduction (FFWTR) for the purposes of extending the normal fuel cycle and allow operation with Feedwater Heaters Out-of-Service (FWHOOS) at any time during the operating cycle.
The Technical Specification for the Oscillation Power Range Monitor (OPRM) would also be revised to reflect changes necessitated for each fuel cycle as a result of the magnitude of FFWTR for that cycle.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Nuclear Engineering (NJDEP-BNE) reviewed the request in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.91(b). As part of that review, NJDEP-BNE representatives met with PSEG Nuclear LLC personnel on January 11, 2011. Based on the results of our review and the meeting, we have no comments.
