(Entergy), held a telephone conference call on August 8, 2007, to discuss and clarify newly submitted information concerning the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station license renewal application.
Summary of Discussion On July 30, 2007, Entergy, submitted a letter to the NRC containing information to clarify four Safety Evaluation Report Confirmatory Items. The information in the letter was sufficient to resolve and close the confirmatory items. The letter also contained information on nonsafety-related components affecting safety-related systems which were brought into the scope of license renewal as a result of the January - February 2007 Region I license renewal inspection, revisions to aging management review tables, and the inclusion of 13 additional nonsafety-related systems in the scope of license renewal.
The staff determined that the information submitted required additional clarification as necessary to complete its review. The staff disseminated to Entergy these areas requiring clarification during this conference call. Entergy will address the staffs concerns delineated during the call in a subsequent letter.
