Dear Mr. Madison:
This refers to the meeting conducted at your staffs request at the Region II Office in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 15, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. The meetings purpose was to discuss current plant performance, management focus areas, and significant plant modifications at your Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant. Enclosed is a list of attendees and a copy of the meeting slides used during the licensee presentation.
The discussions included the following topics: plant performance; Site Vice President reorganization; topical updates on special nuclear material, tritium sampling, 1A residual heat removal pump vibration, alternate source term analysis, staffing, steam chase grating analysis, and Technical Support Center equipment availability; and planned major projects. The meeting was candid and informative and provided useful insight into your staffs understanding and resolution of the discussed topics. The meeting did not result in specific action items or decisions.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
