. C >v Scott, I am sorry to have to report to you that I just got off the phone with the Selectman from the Town of Halifax Vermont and THEY still do not have an evacuation plan for that town.
Realizing that the Vermont Yankee has been in operation since 1973, I have deep concerns about their ability to put one into action as mandated.
The Iodine pills have not been handed out to the entire population because they only have less than a handful in the bottom draw of the town clerk's office.
No sound alarms are in place and a discussion about buying bull horns have been talked about by Emergency Management at the Vermont State Capitol since over a year and a half ago. Welcome to Paul Revere. For the last 16 year, I have been under the impression that my family and I have been protected. I feel that someone needs to step in and ensure that the population is protected in this age of terrorism. Realizing that anything cana nd does happen. Thank you for your patience'and understanding of what I consider a grave situation.

Vermont Yankee Information Sir. Carollo:
Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention, and I hope my phone call and the information in this e-mail prove helpful. As I said in the phone call, I've included both the FEMA document on the Vermont Yankee exercise and the NRC's fact sheet on emergency preparedness. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble saving the fact sheet as a Word document. Most word processing programs should be able to open the WordPerfect format.
