The union represents 148 of the 500 men and women who work at Vermont Yankee.

The terms of the new contract will remain in effect for the next three years. While specific details of the agreement are not being disclosed, the new contract increases the affected workers' wages and maintains benefits.

Vermont Yankee Site Vice President Jay Thayer said, 'This contract is the culmination of the hard work of both the union and Entergy bargaining teams. The new contract will help improve operating and maintenance efficiencies, while preserving the interests of our union members."

=9g 2 I OPA - TEXT.htm Page 21 Vermont Yankee Reconnected to New England Electrical Grid Brattleboro, VT -- Vermont Yankee control room operators restarted the plant's reactor at 6:30 p.m. on July 5 and brought the plant safely back on line at 10:45 p.m. on July 6.

The plant had been shut down for repairs following an automatic shutdown and transformer fire on June 18. Vermont Yankee engineers, technicians and industry specialists worked together to investigate all aspects of the outage and to make repairs over the 19-day outage.

Entergy Vermont Yankee Site Vice president Jay Thayer praised the teamwork that brought the plant safely back on line. "We are dedicated to running this site in a safe and professional manner, and I am proud of the recovery work performed by your friends, neighbors and family members who work at Vermont Yankee."
