SUMMARY
OF NOVEMBER 4, 2004, MEETING REGARDING THE LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR THE BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT (TAC NOS. MC4639 AND MC4640)
On November 4, 2004, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff (the staff) conducted a public information session to describe the license renewal process for Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Units 1 and 2. The purpose of the meeting was to provide information describing the license renewal process and how the public could participate. The meeting was held at the Hampton Inn, Southport, NC. A list of the meeting attendees is provided in Enclosure 1, and the meeting agenda is provided in Enclosure 2. A copy of the presentation slides used by the NRC staff are provided in Enclosure 3.
The NRC staff presented slides describing the NRCs license renewal process and how the public could participate in the process. The staff then answered questions from members of the public, primarily concerned with employee and offsite radiation doses. The staff was successful in addressing the questions of members of the public.
