SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE September 2004 The unit began the month at 100% power.
On 09/10/04 at 2240 power was reduced to 86% for Main Turbine Valve Testing. Testing was completed and power was restored to 100% on 09/11/04 at 0037.
On 09/18/04 at 1258 a rapid down power was required due to decreasing condenser vacuum. Power was stabilized at approximately 87% while trouble shooting took place. It was determined that a high differential pressure, due to sea grass intrusion, on the Amertap screens prevented moving the screens.
Circulating Water Pump 25 was secured and the screens were repositioned. Power was increased to 98%
and stabilized at 2338 due to condenser differential temperature.
On 09/19/04 at 0140 power was reduced to 86% for waterbox cleaning. Waterbox cleaning was completed and power was returned to 100% at 2217.
On 09/20/04 at 2030 power was reduced to 93% to clean 21A waterbox. Power was returned to 100%
On 09/21/04 at 0400. At 2203 power was reduced to 95% to clean 21B waterbox. Waterbox cleaning was completed and power was returned to 100% on 09/22/04 at 0412. At 2207 power was reduced to 95% to clean 23A waterbox. Waterbox cleaning was completed and power was returned to 100% on 09/23/04 at 0555.
The unit operated at 100% power for the remainder of the month.
