February 5, 2004 Ms. Judy Liskov, Assistant Director Waterford Public Library 49 Rope Ferry Road Waterford, CT 06385
SUBJECT:
MAINTENANCE OF REFERENCE MATERIAL AT THE WATERFORD PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR THE MILLSTONE POWER STATION UNITS 2 AND 3 LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION
Dear Ms. Liskov:
This letter is a follow-up to our telephone conversation in January 2004, concerning the maintenance of relevant documents by your library. These documents are related to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs review of the application by the Dominion Nuclear Connecticut Inc. (DNC) for license renewal of the Millstone Power Station Units 2 and 3 for an additional 20 years.
The application was submitted to the NRC on January 22, 2004, and consists of five 4-inch binders. Over the two year review period, the volume of documents and related correspondence is expected to fill about one 3-foot shelf. We understand that a paper copy of the application has been delivered to you by Max Schneider, the NRCs Senior Resident Inspector for the Millstone Power Station. An electronic version will also be made available at the NRCs Public Electronic Reading Room, accessible through the NRCs home page http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
We appreciate your willingness to assist the public in participating in the license renewal application process. We will place the Waterford Public Library on our distribution list for documents and notices related to the DNC application for license renewal at Millstone.
Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, you can reach me by telephone at (301) 415-1590 or via e-mail at rle@nrc.gov.
Sincerely,
/RA/
