Dear Mr. Miller:
In accordance with 10 CFR 55.1 1, Pilgrim Station requests an exemption from 10 CFR 55.47:.
Waiver of Examination and Test Requirements: specifically. 10 CFR 55.47 (a) (1). The details.
of the request are in Enclosure 1. This bxemption is in reference to an individual.who has previously held an SRO License at Pilgrim Station.

Richard M. Probasco SOP-10890-1 55-61 290 In accordance with the guidelines set forth in 10 CFR 55.47, Enclosure 2 contains the proposed training plan for Mr. P robasco. Approval of this plan by the NRC is the basis for a waiver in accordance with the provislon of 10 CFR 55.47, "Waiver of ExamInation and Test Requlrements". contains Mr. Probasco's draft form 398 for your review as per discussion with your staff ftelecom with Mr. Allen Blarney on 12/06/02). A completed Form NRC-369 "Certification of Medical Examinatlon by Facitity Licensee" will follow under separate cover.

Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station Letter Number: 2.02.108 Page 2 Mr. Probasco is scheduled to complete his training in January of 2003. from the period in which the training is complete until the issuance of the license, he will not be acting in the capacity of a licensed SRO or Shift Manager.
