The C-b 0 Foundation has sent two letters to Commissioner Diaz requesting information concerning your technical requirements of Seabrook operators for a comprehensive inspection oftheir steam generators at the scheduled October refueling shut-down, without reply. The C-I 0 invitation to participate provided the NRC yet another opportunity to address this critical safety concern to the EPZ communities.
As the NRC has been invited to hear the concerns of the public and to address the NRC's position on the questions raised concerning the need for a comprehensive inspection of Seabrook's steam generators aind has declined the C-lO's request for attendance and participation, could you state the reason for not addressing these concerns at a public information forum in writing?
We intend to inform the community at the forum but also in our press release on the I 8' your reasoning for not addressing these questions in a public forum accurately. I would appreciate a response as soon as possible, or I am sure the press and public will be camlling you for comment directly. Please FAX your response to me at 978-462-3959 or if you wish by at.
