Dear Mr. Garchow:
This is in response to your letter dated May 12, 2003, in which you notified the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) of your plans to apply your 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, Quality Assurance Program to construction and operation of an independent spent fuel storage installation (ISFSI) at the Hope Creek and Salem Generating Stations. Your letter states that you plan to store spent fuel in dry storage casks under the general licensing provisions of 10 CFR Part 72. It is our understanding that you intend to operate a common ISFSI for the Hope Creek and Salem Generating Stations. We appreciate your sending advance notification of your ISFSI plans and would like to provide you with an ISFSI docket number and NRC contacts for future ISFSI correspondence.
The Hope Creek and Salem ISFSI docket is 72-48 and the NRC contacts are as follows:
