Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 NRC Integrated Inspection Report 05000272/2010003 and 05000311/2010003 dated August 10, 2010 In the referenced Integrated Inspection Report, PSEG Nuclear LLC received a Non Cited Violation for not performing the required inservice inspection provided by the ASME Code, Section Xl, intended to demonstrate the structural integrity of a portion of safety related Auxiliary Feedwater buried piping since 1988. Therefore, Owners Activity Reports submitted up until this violation, which had certified that examinations and test meet the inspection plan as required by ASME Code, Section Xl, which would have included these buried pipe portions, were not accurate.
Salem Unit 1 buried piping (i.e., Auxiliary Feedwater, Service Water and Control Air Piping) was tested satisfactorily in the spring 2010 outage. Salem Unit 2 buried piping will be inspected/tested in the spring 2011 outage.
This letter is being submitted to acknowledge this inaccuracy in reporting; however, PSEG does not plan to submit revised owners group activity reports.
