N Commttted to Nuclear Excetlet~ce Prairie lsland Nuclear Generating Plant Operated by Nuclear Management Company, LLC U S Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555-0001 Prairie lsland Nuclear Generating Plant Units 1 and 2 Dockets 50-282 and 50-306 License Nos. DPR-42 and DPR-60 Revised Commitment to Submit Best-Estimate Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA)

Analysis Reference 1) Letter from Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC) to US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, "Clarification of Actions for Corrections to Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS) Evaluation Models", dated September 24,2004, Accession No. ML042790321.

By reference 1, NMC committed to provide a new large break LOCA analysis for the Prairie lsland Nuclear Generating Plant by March 31, 2006.

NMC has proceeded on a schedule leading to submittal of a new large break LOCA analysis by March 31, 2006. However, pursuant to telephone discussions with the NRC Staff, NMC determined that submittal of a separate analysis for each unit would be more appropriate. In telephone discussions with the NRC Staff on January 24, 2006, NMC discussed an approach to provide a new analysis for each Prairie lsland Nuclear Generating Plant unit. Since two separate analyses require additional time to complete, NMC and the NRC Staff agreed that a submittal date of July 31, 2006 provides the necessary additional time and is acceptable to the NRC.
