| Event Description | On July 28, 2011, at 0115 hours0.00133 days <br />0.0319 hours <br />1.901455e-4 weeks <br />4.37575e-5 months <br />, a main control room recorder failed. The recorder functions to remotely monitor plant area temperatures, including eight areas used in accident classification (specifically, Emergency Action Level classifications when predetermined temperature levels are exceeded).
Troubleshooting efforts have been initiated to determine the cause of the recorder failure; the eight affected areas are being monitored locally twice per shift during operator rounds. Given this recorder is used for accident classification, this event is reportable under 10 CFR 50.72(b)(3)(xiii). The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified. |
