"At approximately 0930 EDT on 6/2/2017, a deceased Atlantic Sturgeon was removed from the Salem Unit 1 Circulating Water System (CWS) Intake Structure. A report was made by Environmental Licensing to the National Marine Fisheries at 1005 EDT and the NJDEP Division of Fish & Wildlife at 1010 EDT, concerning the Atlantic sturgeon.
"Nuclear Environmental Affairs has made a determination that this event warrants a 4 hr report to the NRC under RAL 11.8.2.a.
The licensee notified the NRC Resident Inspector.
Notified the R1DO (Bower) and Endangered Species Group via email.
