ACCEPTANCE OF PROPOSED SAFEGUARDS REVIEWING OFFICIAL
Dear Gayle Elliott:
This is in response to your March 28, 2024, letter requesting U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) authorization for Martin Luther Ernst III to serve as NRC Safeguards Reviewing Official for Framatome Inc. (Framatome, formerly AREVA, Inc.).
The NRC staff has completed its review of your authorization request and determined that Martin Luther Ernst III meets the criteria specified in NRC Order EA-07-231, Order Imposing Safeguards Information Protection Requirements and Fingerprinting and Criminal History Records Check Requirements for Access to Safeguards Information, dated September 12, 2007 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML072220343). Therefore, Martin Luther Ernst III is authorized to serve as Framatome Safeguards Reviewing Official.
Reviewing officials must maintain and protect all fingerprints, Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal history records, and other related records and are authorized to grant access to Safeguards Information, as specified in the Orders. Please note that if Framatome wishes to assign new or additional reviewing officials, the NRC must approve each individual before they can act in that position.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 2, Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, Section 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, a copy of this communication will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room, or from the NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
