Dear Mr. Jolicoeur:
This letter provides notification of a planned ERDS hardware change scheduled to take place June 27,2002.
1 OCFR50 Appendix E, Section V1.3.b requires planned hardware and software modifications to the ERDS to be reported to the NRC as soon as practicable and at least 30 days prior to the modification.
We would like to make an improvement to our ERDS system by changing our ERDS hardware from VME based Motorola Model 8840 to an AMD Athlon based system running a RedHat Linux operating system. We are not making a software change, however, we will be changing to a new Linux operating system. We would like to schedule a retest at your convenience, after our change. Please update our PAL items to reflect these changes. This letter does not contain any commitments.
