11555 Rockville Pike Rockville, MD 20852-2738 Dear Mr. Mendonca Recently the Texas A&M Nuclear Science (NSC) received correspondence from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) with unclear instructions as to who had access to the information and whom we could brief. Heretofore, NSC management may share any and all communications from the NRC to the NSC directly and immediately with the Director (NSC), Radiation Safety Officer (NSC), Chairman of the Reactor Safety Board, NSC license holder, the Director of the Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES),
and Chancellor and other executive officers of TEES and the Texas A&M University System.
We do not believe this is contrary to the intent of the initial communication.
Nevertheless, we want to ensure that, in the future, there will be no misunderstanding between the NRC and the NSC concerning the handling of this information.
