OF DECEMBER 5, 2006, MEETING WITH AMERGEN ENERGY COMPANY, LLC TO DISCUSS ALTERNATIVE SOURCE TERM LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NO. MC6519)
On December 5, 2005, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a meeting with AmerGen Energy Company, LLC (AmerGen) to discuss a license amendment request (LAR) submitted for the Oyster Creek Generating Station (Oyster Creek). Specifically, the meeting was held to discuss NRC staff questions communicated to AmerGen in a draft Request for Additional Information (RAI). The draft questions are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System under accession number ML063320478. AmerGen was supported in this meeting by representatives from Polestar. This document provides a summary of the meeting. No members of the public were in attendance.
G. Edward Miller, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, opened the meeting with a synopsis of the current status of the Oyster Creek LAR. Subsequently, the draft RAI questions were reviewed by their NRC author and the proposed response by AmerGen was discussed. During this discussion, some of the questions were identified as already being answered by currently-docketed material, while other questions were identified as needing to be answered.
