Special Report of ECCS Actuation River Bend Station - Unit 1 Docket No. 50-458 License No. NPF-47 File Nos.

G9.5, G9.25.1.3 RBG-46643 RBF1-07-0006 Ladies and Gentlemen:

Pursuant to River Bend Technical Requirements Manual (TRM) section 5.6.9.2, Entergy Operations, Inc., hereby provides notification that on October 19, 2006, the high pressure core spray (HPCS) system automatically actuated and injected water into the reactor coolant system. This system actuation occurred in response to an actual low water level condition in the reactor vessel following a loss of normal feedwater flow. The details of that event are contained in Licensee Event Report 50-458/06-007-00, dated December 18, 2006.

This HPCS actuation was the 14th such event since plant operations started in 1985.

The total cumulative nozzle usage factor remains below the TRM limit of 0.70.

Sincerely, David N. Lorfingi/
