Dear Sir or Madam:
By letter (Reference 1), Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) provided the NRC the results of the mitigation actions taken on the remaining Alloy 82/182 Pressurizer butt welds associated with the pressurizer spray, surge, and relief lines for Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3 (Waterford 3). In Reference 2, an NRC Confirmatory Action Letter wasissued to confirm commitments by Entergy regarding Alloy 82/182 butt welds at Waterford 3. In Reference 3, Entergy notified the NRC staff of actions planned for Waterford 3 to address the potential of primary water stress-corrosion cracking (PWSCC) in the dissimilar metal butt welds containing Alloy 82/182 on the pressurizer spray, surge, and relief lines.
As requested in Reference 2, Entergy is notifying the NRC that all required actions and commitments contained in Reference 3 and confirmed in Reference 2 have been satisfactorily completed. With all the Alloy 82/182 butt welds in the Waterford 3 pressurizer being
W3F1-2008-0048 Page 2 of 3 mitigated, the enhanced reactor coolant system inspection and leakage monitoring requirements, established by References 2 and 3, are no longer applicable.
This letter contains no additional NRC commitments. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Robert Murillo at 504-739-6715.
I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct. Executed on July 28, 2008.
