ENRICO FERMI ATOMIC POWER PLANT UNIT 1 - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION On March 30, 2011, DTE Energy submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) the 2011 Decommissioning Funding Status (DFS) report for Enrico Fermi Atomic Power Plant, Unit 1 (Fermi 1), as required under Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR)
Section 50.75(f)(1). In order to complete our review of your Decommissioning Funding Status report we require additional information as detailed in the enclosure. Please provide a response to our request for additional information within 30 days from the date of this letter.

Enclosure REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BY THE OFFICE OF NUCLEAR REACTOR REGULATION 2011 DECOMMISSIONING FUNDING STATUS REPORT FOR ENRICO FERMI ATOMIC POWER PLANT UNIT 1 The requests for additional information (RAIs) provided are in response to the 2011 Decommissioning Funding Status (DFS) report for Enrico Fermi Atomic Power Plant, Unit 1. On March 30, 2011, DTE Energy submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) the 2011 Decommissioning Funding Status (DFS) report for Enrico Fermi Atomic Power Plant, Unit 1 (Fermi 1), as required under Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 50.75(f)(1). DTE Energy should provide a response within 30 days from the date of this letter.
RAI #1:
Decommissioning Expenses Provide the amount spent on decommissioning, both cumulative and over the previous calendar year.
On March 30, 2011, Detroit Edison did not explicitly reference expense amounts, either cumulative or over the previous calendar year, for Fermi 1.
Per 10 CFR 50.75(e)(2),
the NRC reserves the right to take the following steps in order to ensure a licensees adequate accumulation of decommissioning funds: review, as needed, the rate of accumulation of decommissioning funds.
RAI #2:
Reliance upon Contracts State if the licensee is relying upon any contracts for the purpose of decommissioning funding assurance for Fermi 1. If the answer is in the affirmative, provide details.
On March 30, 2011, Detroit Edison did not provide a statement regarding reliance upon contracts.
Per 10 CFR 50.75(f)(1) the information in this report must include, at a minimumany contracts upon which the licensee is relying under paragraph (e)(1)(v) of this section;
