SEABROOK STATION, UNIT 1 - CORRECTION TO REQUEST FOR RELIEF 31R-2 FOR PRESSURIZER SUPPORTS (TAC NO. ME7258)
Dear Mr. Walsh:
By letter dated September 26, 2011, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML11277A269), NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC (NextEra or licensee) submitted request for relief 31R-2 for the third 1 O-year inservice inspection (lSI) interval.
program at the Seabrook Station, Unit 1 (Seabrook) from certain examination requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (AS ME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Code). Specifically, the licensee requested relief from the ASME Code,Section XI requIrements for the pressurizer vessel welded attachments and component supports. The request is for the remainder of the third 1 O-year lSI interval.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff approved the relief request by letter dated June 28,2012 (ADAMS Accession No. ML120860397).
Subsequently, it was discovered that there were two typographical errors in the last sentence of Section 3.4 on page 3 of the safety evaluation (SE). Section 3.4 was a quote from your submittal dated September 26, 2011, and it referred to Figure 3IR-2-1. The NRC staff incorrectly typed 31 R-2 instead of 3IR-2, The NRC staff tried to clarify where Figure 3IR-2-1 was located by putting the incoming submittal date in brackets. However, the NRC staff incorrectly typed the wrong year of the submittal; the NRC staff incorrectly typed September 26, 2012, instead of September 26, 2011.
