Dear Sir:
Reference a) discussed the recent NRC initiation of a course in Radiation Safety presented by Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) which would certify staff members for entry into restricted areas of NRC licensed facilities after a short site-specific indoctrination (security, emergency and safety training).
Boston Edison Company was requested to consider acceptance of this program as an alternative to the radiation training course presented to NRC personnel at Pilgrim Station.
Please be assured that we will accept this certification in lieu of the Radiation Safety Course provided at Pilgrim Station with the following restrictions:
A.
The ORAU Certification will only be accepted at PNPS for one year from date of issuance. From and after this expiration date, recertification will be required.
B.
All remaining site specific indoctrinations necessary for entrance into restricted areas will be required.
C.
Copies of certificates must be forwarded to BECo prior to intended visit or presented at time of visit. These copies will then be retained in a permanent file at Pilgrim Station, Very truly yours,
