November 27, 2019 Mr. Daniel G. Stoddard Senior Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer Innsbrook Technical Center 5000 Dominion Blvd Glen Allen, VA 29060

SUBJECT:

SURRY POWER STATION, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 - SCHEDULE REVISION FOR THE SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION REVIEW (EPID NO.

L-2018-RNW-0024)

Dear Mr. Stoddard:

By letter dated October 15, 2018 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML18291A842), as supplemented by letters dated January 29, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19042A137), and April 2, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19095A666), Virginia Electric and Power Company (Dominion) submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or staff) an application to renew the Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-32 and DPR-37 for the Surry Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2, respectively (Surry). Dominion submitted the application pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 54, Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants, for subsequent license renewal.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that, while the overall review schedule for the Surry subsequent license renewal application remains June 2020, the safety review schedule will be slightly modified. The scheduled date for Issue Safety Evaluation Report (SER) is being revised from November 2019 to December 2019 to support closure of the final review aspects.

This change to an interim milestone will not affect the February 2020 schedule for the ACRS Subcommittee on Plant License Renewal. The NRC staff understands, through discussions with your staff, that Dominion has no objection to this safety review schedule change. The enclosure of this letter provides the staffs revised review schedule for the Surry subsequent license renewal application.

If you have any questions related to this safety review schedule, please contact Angela Wu at 301-415-2995 or Angela.Wu@nrc.gov or Lauren Gibson at 301-415-1056 or Lauren.Gibson@nc.gov.

Sincerely,

/RA/

Eric. R. Oesterle, Chief License Renewal Projects Branch Division of New and Renewed Licenses Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket Nos. 50-280 and 50-281
