ACTION LEVEL The Radiation Survey Groups will be activated as necessary by the Radiation Protection Team Leader.

PRECAUTIONS 1.

The group member's exosoure should be limited to the administrative guide levels in Appendix EP 205B-4, Emergency Exposure Limits.

2.

If the enuipment in use during a survey fails or malfunctions, it must be repaired or replaced; otherwise, the survey team shall retreat to a safe area until the equipment is replaced or repaired.

3.

When conduiting field surveys from inside a vehicle, readings must be taken with the probe outside the vehicle.

EP-501 PUBLIC ALERT SIREN ACTIVATICN - INTERIM PilRPOSE This procedure describes the method for pounding the public alert sirens

.during the period from February 1, 1982 until. the systen installation has been completed.

. PRECAUTIONS 1.

No public alert siren shall be activated by Philadelphia Electric t

Company enployees without prior authority from the respective county EOC's.

IMEDIATE ACTIONS

~

The Emergency Director shall notify per procedure appropriate county and E

state agencies that a particular class of energency exists at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station.

2.

The Emergency Director or the Site Emergency Coordinator, if the EOF is activated, shall contact the Conowingo Control Room Operator at 82-221 and request initiation of t!ie siren activation procedure.

3.

When the county EOC's authorize the operation of the sirens to alert the public, the Dnergency Director or the Site Emergency Coordinator, if the EOF is activated, shall contact the Conowingo Control Room Operator and direct that the sirens be sounded. He shall inform the Conowingo Operator of radioactive exposure hazards which might require protective equipment for the siren operators.

4.

The Conowingo Operator shall contact in this order:

a) The Conowingo Power Company Dispatcher in Elkton, Maryland, at
