Dear Mr. DelGeorge:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. F. Schapker of this office
on September 21 through October 20, 1993. The inspection included a review of
inservice inspection activities at your Byron fluclear Power Station, Unit 2.
The findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the
enclosed report at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.
Within
these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures
and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of
activities in progress.
The purpose of the inspection was to determine
whether activities authorized by the license were conducted safely and in
accordance with fiRC requirements,
lio violations of f4RC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the f4RC
Public Document Room.
