Dear Ms. Kock:

In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between our agencies, I request that you review the attached Japanese Certificate of Competent Authority J/170/B(U)F96 (Rev. 3),

dated June 23, 2020, for the JRF90Y950K package and make a recommendation concerning our revalidation of the package for import and export use.

To assist you in your review, a copy of the package design safety report for the JRF90Y950K package along with other supporting documents will be provided to your staff electronically.

Please note that your staff has reviewed earlier versions of this certificate, most recently in 2010 (Docket No. 713036, TAC No. L24357). The only significant change to the JRF90Y950K package from the version reviewed in 2010 is the addition to the contents of Kyoto University Critical Assembly (KUCA) fresh fuel elements, as indicated in Table 4 of the attached certificate.

If you have any questions or need any additional safety information, please feel free to contact Michael Conroy of my staff at (202) 3663597 or via email at Michael.Conroy@dot.gov.

Sincerely, Digitally signed by Richard Richard Boyle Boyle Date: 2020.10.01 14:23:58
