• Cross-regional Risk-Informed Decision-Making (RIDM) Working Group

• Region-specific RIDM plans

• Regional RIDM seminar (September 2020)

• Regional staff participation in working groups to update inspection procedures (example 50.69 working group)

• Region III - table-top exercises for Risk-Informed Completion Time (RICT) LAR implementation, internal communication tools (one-pagers), improved weekly reactor issues meeting (PRISM)

Region III Lessons - Learned

• Formal training is helpful, but additional regional focus and informal training/knowledge management is also

• We need to further develop our inspection skills in oversight of risk-informed initiatives

• Supervisors and managers also need to understand the initiatives and the focus of regulatory oversight

• Inspectors are comfortable with enforcing existing TS, FSAR, requirements and regulations, not so much with the implementation of risk-informed initiatives

• Were not in Kansas anymore!
